ADHD

There is a very strong link betwen sleep disordered breathing and ADHD. Many children are diagnosed with ADHD when often their behaviour is related to a breathing dysfunction. Through breathing education and cranial osteopathy we aim to normalize dysfunctional breathing patterns, balance dysfunctional patterns in the body. This promotes relaxation, and overall well-being, helping to manage symptoms such as hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention.

Osteopathy and functional breathing for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

An estimated 25 to 50% of people with ADHD experience sleep problems, ranging from insomnia to secondary sleep conditions. Doctors are starting to realize the importance of treating sleep problems and the impact this can have on both ADHD symptoms and quality of life for ADHD patients.

Focus areas

  • Cranial, fascial, and musculoskeletal Imbalances: Osteopathy treatment for ADHD focuses on addressing imbalances within the body that may impact individuals with ADHD, such as poor posture and motor coordination challenges. Through personalized treatment plans and cranial osteopathic treatment, we aim to improve alignment and movement to support physical well-being in individuals with ADHD.
  • Nervous System Regulation: This treatment targets nervous system regulation in individuals with ADHD, addressing challenges with attention, impulse control, and hyperactivity. With a focus on promoting optimal neurological function through cranial osteopathy, it enhances overall nervous system regulation to support cognitive functioning in individuals with ADHD.
  • Stress and Emotional Regulation: Osteopathy and functional breathing can help manage stress and emotional regulation in individuals with ADHD. By providing relaxation techniques, reducing tension, and addressing emotional imbalances, I am able to support individuals in coping with the emotional aspects of ADHD, fostering emotional well-being and resilience.
  • Behavioral Support: The comprehensive care plan includes addressing behavioral challenges associated with ADHD, such as impulsivity and difficulty focusing. By promoting relaxation, balance, and overall well-being, treatment contributes to improved behavior regulation and self-management skills in individuals with ADHD.
