Christina Fraval helping individuals to prevent asthma symptoms and breathe easier through holistic and individualised treatment approaches.

Several clinical trials since 1994 have shown the effectiveness of the Buteyko Breathing Method for reducing symptoms and the need for medication in the treatment of asthma.

Some of the conditions that osteopathy may be beneficial for Asthma Treatment include:

  • Asthma: Osteopathy and breathing exercises can assist in the management of asthma. We address musculoskeletal imbalances and support the body to enhance breathing mechanics. Using Buteyko base breathing exercises we help support patients suffering from asthma and breathing dysfunction.
  • Respiratory Conditions: We offer support for a range of respiratory conditions beyond asthma, including bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and allergies. By focusing on improving respiratory function and addressing musculoskeletal issues affecting breathing, osteopaths help individuals manage symptoms and enhance lung health. Additionally, we also use breathing exercises to support these efforts and further assist in the management and improvement of respiratory conditions.
  • Postural Issues: Osteopathy targets postural issues that can affect breathing patterns and exacerbate asthma symptoms. By addressing posture-related restrictions in the ribcage and thoracic spine, osteopaths aim to improve lung expansion and support optimal breathing for individuals with asthma.
  • Breathing Difficulties: Individuals experiencing breathing difficulties, such as shortness of breath or chest tightness, can benefit from osteopathic treatment to enhance respiratory function and alleviate related symptoms. We work to improve breathing mechanics, reduce tension in the chest muscles, and promote efficient breathing patterns for better management of asthma and breathing challenges.
  • Allergies: By targeting factors that contribute to allergic responses and respiratory distress, we support individuals in managing asthma exacerbations related to allergies more effectively. Using exercises to reduce over-breathing and dysfunctional breathing patterns, we aim to reduce inflammation in the respiratory system reducing allergy symptoms.
