Breathing Related Issues

I have incorporated a combination of traditional osteopathic principles with specialised expertise in respiratory health for individuals seeking to improve their breathing habits and overall quality of life.

The osteopathic treatment we offer is designed to help you overcome challenges such as pain, restricted breathing, poor posture, and breathing pattern disorders that may be limiting your lung capacity and overall well-being.

Additionally, our services cover the management of sleep disorder breathing, chronic congestion including conditions like sleep apnoea, by identifying and addressing underlying factors that contribute to disrupted breathing during sleep.

By utilising a combination of manual techniques, therapeutic exercises, and patient education, the aim is to help you to breathe more freely and deeply, allowing you to experience a greater sense of vitality and ease in your breathing patterns.

I also offer a ‘Kids Breathing Program’ that is specifically designed to support healthy respiratory development in children, addressing common breathing issues and promoting optimal breathing habits from a young age.

For kids struggling with mouth breathing, our tailored approach focuses on correcting oral posture, improving nasal breathing, and transitioning to healthier breathing patterns.

Over breathing (hyperventilation) and anxiety can put an individual into a vicious cycle of stress. When we over breathe, we cause a reduction in our arterial carbon dioxide. This causes an increase in the stress hormones in the body putting the individual into a state of flight/fight. When in a state of anxiety our breathing is affected, and we tend to over breathe and the cycle goes on.

Breathing training can help resolve breathing dysfunctions associated with anxiety and panic attacks by breaking this vicious cycle. By normalizing the breathing pattern through exercises, the individual can reduce stress hormones in the body, settling the state of stress and panic.

Kids Breathing Programs

We offer specialized breathing programs tailored for children to support healthy respiratory development. Our kid-focused breathing programs aim to address common breathing issues in children, such as shallow breathing or breathing pattern disorders. Through gentle techniques and breathing exercises, we help children improve their breathing efficiency and promote better lung function.

Mouth Breathing

Mouth breathing can lead to a range of health issues, including dry mouth, bad breath, and disrupted sleep patterns. Our osteopathic approach to mouth breathing involves addressing underlying structural and functional factors that contribute to this breathing habit. By improving nasal breathing and correcting oral posture, we help individuals transition to healthier breathing through their nose, promoting optimal oxygen intake and overall well-being.

Chronic Congestion

Chronic nasal congestion can impact breathing function and overall quality of life. Our osteopathic solutions for chronic congestion involve addressing underlying factors such as nasal inflammation, sinus blockages, or postural imbalances that may contribute to congestion. By using manual techniques to release tension and improve sinus drainage, we help individuals find relief from chronic nasal congestion and breathe more comfortably.
